I didn't see a health forum anywhere? Anyway.

I have suffered from nervous ticks (like blinking eyes and shaky eyelids etc) and also constant shakiness (shaky hands) for as long as I can remember. Along with that, I constantly feel the need to fidget, like shake my leg or drum my fingers.

I really wish I could live without any of this stuff.

Can someone help at all?

Thanks

-edit- just remembered i always clench my teeth also - day and night.

I once had psycho-motor tics with eyes and then other muscles, near impulsively and entirely psychological. They went away though as I grew older.

These lasted from ages 7 or 8 until 11 or 12.

I've been having those same things happen to me once in awhile. It happens a lot when I'm bored. u

I am an old fogey (47) and have a genetic tremor that gets worse before I eat or after strenuous activity. I have had this condition since childhood and it goes through periods of better and worse. Occasionally I'll have a hurky-jerky tic like when a cup of tea slips slightly from my grasp and I overreact for fear of spilling it. When offering a glass of wine to friends I can only handle the glasses one at a time, because my left hand seems to shake a bit more.

Good luck...I don't really have a solution and can only compare notes, because I don't want to take a seditive.

I get shakey and I've found the only thing that helps is to try to eliminate stress, which is easier said than done. Time is helping mine, too and maybe this will happen in your case as well. When you mentioned jaw clenching the word stress immediately came to me, and also the thought that boredom can be kind of stressful in a way. I had the jaw clenching problem and this also started to get better as I became aware that I was doing it. If you are having jaw pain there is a device a dentist can make for when you sleep that is supposed to help. I wish you luck.

Jaw clenching and teeth grinding is called Bruxism. I sleep with one of those dental devices every night and it helps alot.

I will tell you a little about mine.
They first started with eye tics, then the muscles in my feet, then sides and all were inerlinked. The tics were seperated from left to right himosphere and had to do with muscle equalization but were like impulsionary reflexes.

There would be times where I could not stop them, for instance I could spend 5 minutes in a mind frame between the desire and impulse to do them. Psychological distress could trigger them like changes in routine . I recall them being painfull, not being able to stop them, then to hide them.

I was one really interesting person when I was younger, in my head :P

I also get shaky fron time to time. I find that stress is the culprit. I remove myself from the situations that reduce the shaking, and that seems to work for me.

I have found that the toes on my right foot are curled up almost all the time, except when I am walking. While it is easy to uncurl them for a moment, a huge struggle ensues if I try to keep them that way. I also have a habit of smashing my heels together when I walk, but only when I am wearing shoes. Another annoying tic is that my muscles keep tensing up, and then relaxing.
