I'm not really like Sheldon, though I really admire his character and the way he does things. I suppose, in a way, I am similar to him, but I'm more childish and 'dippy', and am prone to maniac laughter
yes, my theories and ideas are sometimes odd or quite unusual, so my parents definitely saw me as ditzy and silly. as an adult i am much more appreciated!

If, where I live, people watched The Big Bang Theory and if they had even the slightest idea what Asperger's is, they would compare me to Sheldon at least three times a day
we are in good company!

OMFG, I love Sheldon. He's such an aspie. He's also a selfish brat a lot of the time, but I love him anyway.
I'm the only person I know who watches that show, but yeah, I do identify with him a lot. I'm a lot less... confrontational about my idiosyncrasies, though. It's actually sometimes kind of awkward to watch, because I'm pretty much on Sheldon's side by default, while the writers favour Leonard, the most "normal" of the boys, or Penny. Like, when Sheldon kicked Penny out of the apartment that one time, because she refused to respect his boundaries? Totally fair. If someone deliberately and repeatedly makes a mockery of something they know is important to you, however trivial it seems to them, you are well within your rights to remove them from your space. Penny was cruel, but Sheldon was weird, so it was him who was punished.
i love sheldon too. the writers definitely paint sheldon as the abnormal person in the mix, but they ALL have issues i think!
there was an episode where another character made reference to sheldon's supposed tirade about 3-tined forks, and i killed myself laughing.... i go on and on about stuff like that.
