That's what I've been wondering. Why is everything so large at the top?

I thought I was imagining the change. I hate things changing and moving, but, to be honest, it is easier to read and the direct menu into the main forums is useful. (I didn't notice the login moving?)

Eeeeeeeew, that is all.

But personally, I would have preferred it smaller.

If any of you are friends with Alex on Facebook, he posted a status about it. He said he was coding new WP features.

I really, really hate the new headlines at the top of the forum. It takes up so much space on my screen, and they are at the top of every page of every forum.

I also notice that there is some kind of embedded and hidden photo (or even the entire front page) that flashes by when changing pages - it means the site downloads much more slowly. (EDIT: the headlines fold, so it actually loads a hidden copy of the entire story summary and photo, which unfold when you click on them).

There are a pile of coding errors (like unclosed <font> tags) in the site, as well as broken Quantserve, Comscore and UrchinTracker advertising applets - maybe because the missing tags and ";" terminators are messing up the scripts.

These are obnoxious.

Yeah, I read WP on my cell phone and I have to scroll down past all the articles to get to the forum and I'm already having a little troule with a sticky mouse-ball.

Change = yuk. Why fix what ain't broke?

I agree. The large font is really bothersome. It's like bam in your face. It doesn't even work with the layout of the site very well.

too many changes all at once....uuuggghhhhhh.....slow down, please.

I agree with the part about the font being a bit too big at the top. Only a few pixels bigger than it was before would be cool. It's a bit demanding at the moment. I have a 24" screen which ought to dwarf it but it's still big and if I make the dispay smaller in my browser I can get the menu font to a better size but then everything else becomes too small. Maybe it's the relational quality of the fonts.

The mouse over dropdown menus are pretty cool, but the collapsed display when you follow the general discussion link is a bit disorienting.

So anybody else notice the facebook like button under topics now?

I swear I'm finding a new surprise everyday now...
But I'd like it more if the site ran a bit faster.

I've found you can reduce the impact of the flashing up of the front page by using Adblock Plus to selectively block the photos on the WP homepage. The text on its own is less irritating/seasick making than the photographs as they flash past. Right click the photos one at a time and select Adblock Image BUT change the default selection to the specific image - the default is to block all images on WP which would not be good.

Edit: I've just found that Ad blocking the main WP logo at the top of the page reduces the amount of clutter at the top of the screen and means less scrolling down to get to the forums. The side-effect is that you can't get to the WP homepage at all after that, but overall the benefit seems to outweigh the loss - to me anyway since I don't visit the WP homepage very often. I can always get there by editing the URL in the browser anyway.

The blue bars untop are ugly.

And don't work with the forum at all.

The one that says Autism Talks and The Running Man. They are distracting and are right in my vision.

Is this web design like a joke? Is he just messing with us and putting as many annoying large features as he wants to see what we finally have the last straw? This can't be for serious these changes.

Why is Alex making all these changes, they are really irritating to members, and it does nothing to improve the site.
That home page flashing every time I click from the index page to one of the boards is really bothering me, I don't
want to use adblocker to keep the pictures from flashing, maybe its time to move over to another ASD forum since
I doubt anyone here feels they should listen to members concerns

I didn't notice the changes but they don't bother me at all
