Have I ever been able to handwrite legibly, I am sure I would have been fascinated by caligraphy. Might even have become one of my special interests. I love looking at different fonts and writing styles and comparing them anyway.

I love the look of calligraphy, and the idea of it. I like letterforms and typography, too (I was a letterpress printer for a little while). But my handwriting is so terrible, I must write so slowly to produce calligraphy that my hand cramps. So it isn't something I can do much of - in fact, I haven't even tried it in years.

I do write with fountain pens, though. :D I've even got one with a nib set up by John Mottishaw. Not customised, but even the nibs he just generally sets up are well above average. And I use Noodlers Ink, because it glides over the paper so well, doesn't feather, and stands out better than the watery crap most manufacturers put into cartridges.

So, yes, I'm a pen nut, with an interest in calligraphy. In fact, you might want to check out John Mottishaw's Nibworks - he sets up custom nibs for all sorts of people / purposes. Not cheap, but one of these days I'm going to spring for one, once I figure out just what I want.

It's beautiful, but I don't have the patience nor skills to do it. My normal handwriting is a disaster.

I took a class in 10th grade and loved it. :)

Don't use it too much anymore, but I did keep my notes/projects in case I ever want to again.

My favorite style is Celtic.

I used to have a bit of an obsession with it when I was younger and always wanted to learn. It's beautiful. I had a cheap fountain pen type 'calligraphy pen' but I always wanted one of those big old fashioned feather quills with a glass pot of ink:(.

i'd completely forgotten until I read this.
