hi

As you will be able to tell I am a new user here and my motives are somewhat selfish, which is why I do not want to do the wrong thing.
I work with a charity which is promoting a new campaign (not trying to sell anything, get money or anything - just trying to collect peoples ideas and perspectives).

Having read your Forum rules and FAQs I notice that it says not to post affilate links. My aim was to join and post to the (hopefully correct) forumabout the campaign and with a type of call to action to see if anyone who reads these forums would like to contribute or look at the site.

I dont want to post something like this though if it is not allowed or if it is seen as spamming (I have left charity details out here for same reason). As such I am wondering if there is someone I can show the post I am hoping to submit and tell me if it is ok to post it. (I equally didnt want to just post it and see if it got deleted)

any advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks

The idea is to become a member of our Community, let us get to know you and you to know us before you start pushing whatever agenda you might have. Just think of it from your point of view, if some of us came onto YOUR forum only to extract what you needed from your community and then leave.

So, that is why WP doesn't allow posting a web URL until you have posted a few times.

As for drafting something and getting approval for it, you can contact someone listed in the "How to Get Moderator Attention" thread. Tallyman would probably be the one most willing to spend time reading it and helping you.

But it is good to let us get to know you first.
