I have regular conflict with doctors - everytime they need to do something they wind up hurting me. The doctor who diagnosed my AS suggested that I explain that due to sensory differences their procedures may affect me differently (usually causing more pain than expected). Though I have explained this to some doctors, it is clear they are no longer listening or just don't care. Now when I report symptoms or affects they respond as if I am exagerating or just disregard what I am saying all together. (Oh she thinks she's autistic and complains all the time).

Now I am pregnant and throwing up ALL THE TIME
I feel like I have anorexia and bulimia at the same time.

When I called the community health number they said no this is beyond normal morning sickness and told me to go to the hospital, where they rolled their eyes at me and did nothing

I can't afford the $200 antinausiant my obgyn prescribed and I don't know what to do!

I am dehydrated, often can't even keep gatoraid down.

Nobody seems to care or take me seriously now that I am Dx with AS I feel like they have profiled me as "difficult" and would rather ignore me untill I go away and die somewhere.

I am begining to genuinly HATE MY BODY

I don't know how to find an obgyn who cares about autistics - seems like the only doctors who pay any attn to autism are pediatritians.

What do I do?

Is it possible to look for a well-informed Pediatrician and ask for some special prenatal care?

Seconded. Hyperemesis gravidarum can be dangerous. You might want to think about getting yourself hospitalised, actually.

In the future, I would advise you do not divulge you have AS or anything similar to your doctors unless absolutely needed.

I suffered with a very physical rare disorder for years because my doctors would not look past the OCD, which they erroneously tend to associate with hypochondria. I eventually figured out what I had on my own and demanded to see the proper specialist. When I finally got into see the specialist, he was overjoyed because they learn about the particular condition in medical school and are then told they will probably never meet anyone with it.

What you need to do at the moment is be very insisting that you receive the proper medical care.

Don't worry about being obnoxious. I have family in the medical field and even they will admit the patients who speak up the most get what they sooner and more often.

With AS, it can be difficult for us to take controll of a situation or make ourselves do things that we need to do. At other times, we fly off the handle and totally over-control a situation. If you manage to get yourself to the ER again and they refuse you medical care, it might be time to fly off the handle. After all, you have more than your own health and well-being to look after.

Perhaps a friend could annonymously "inform" the local TV news about the hospital's senseless act toward a pregnant woman. I'm in Los Angeles, a very large city with millions of people, and hospitals here end up on TV for their poor treatment of homeless people. I would think that a pregnant woman with a neurological disorder and symptoms of a physical illness getting turned away at the ER would get even more attention.

Thirded. Hyperemesis gravidarum is nothing to fool around with. It can hurt you *and* it can hurt the development of your baby.

I have to go for ultrasound today, they will want me to drink 6 glasses of water - impossible!
after I fail there I will go accross the street (different hospital than I went to before) see if they will have a different response.

Hope it went well.
Actually, when they ask you to drink a lot of water, they want you to ensure that your bladder is full, it helps the gynaecologist when assessing early pregnancy. You don't need to drink that much water, you only need to make sure that when the examination begins there's certain amoutn of urine in your bladder. Usually doctors see you in the morning, so trying to hold morning bladder voiding until you've been examined might do the trick.
I wish they'd stop doing the drink-6-glassses-of-water-thing to pregnant women which often can't hold in even half a glass of water.

I never had that happen to me. I was told I must have a full bladder when I go in so I would hold it and not go at all. That did the trick. But then I forgot about it and didn't have a full bladder and they didn't make me drink all that water.

I guess every place is different.
