For those that may be interested (I never take these things for granted) I will be interviewed on the BBC Breakfast Show this Saturday between 6am-10am (interview will be repeated every hour within the 4 hour program) The subject matter is High-functioning autism, hidden disabilities and the imminent changes in the benefit system.

In the interview I talk of how I cope on such small amount of money and the hidden complexities of AS that still remain an enigma to many in the medical world.

I have great concern for many people with AS on Incapacity Benefit in the wake of these changes and would strongly advise you all to get advocacy and support now rather than wait until you are called in.

Many of us are not trapped in a benefit culture at all, but are supported and held within in.

Wishing you all well from London.

I am on benefits too - what do you mean by 'get advocacy and support now rather than wait until you are called in'? Do you mean visit the Citizen's Advice Bureau? I already have some people to help fill in my forms and things at the local Autism Resource Centre, but should I be doing more?

I'm scared about all of this too.

Yes, it is BBC1 television.

With re support all I can advise is
what I am doing which is keeping in
contact with my GP, psychiatrist and
Counsellor.

Many people with AS have been struck
off InCap because of being too
honest and not having someone to
assist them in going to medical review.

Anyone struck off due to honesty was surely being dishonest to get them in the first place and therefore should not recieve them. Wrong choice of words?
