It's one of my favorites. Nobody that I know has seen it aside from the professor who recommended it to me years ago. It's an interesting film, has anyone else seen it/liked it/disliked it? I'm a photographer, and I suppose that factors into why I enjoy this movie, but I think I would like it even if I wasn't a photographer.

I saw it a long time ago (like, er *thinks* fourteen years ago) - have got a copy of it which I bought fairly recently but haven't got round to watching. It has Powaawhatsit with it, which I haven't seen.

I actually think Baraka is a better film than Koyaanisqatsi.

I saw it last year because my friend recommended it to me, great film. I love the cinematography and score (Philip Glass is awesome). I've been meaning to watch Baraka for a long time now but I just have so many movies that I need to watch.

Probably my favourite part.

I like the score, it was pretty intense at times. I also love that scene you posted. I went to college in a very big city, and can remember sitting in my dorm room which was on like the 16th floor or something, and just starring out the window at night, watching all the lights in the windows of the skyscrapers. The city streets could seem so dead at night, as far as people actually out walking around, yet there was millions of lights on all around you. Alone but surrounded at the same time.

Thanks for the Baraka suggestion, I wanted to see it a while ago but forgot to write it down, which means I just forget entirely. Just resigned up for Netflix for the winter, we have really bad winters so I tend to stay inside more, winter=movie time, so I will add it to my queue. I also have not seen Powaqqatsi but just noticed it's on instant watch, so I'll probably watch it tonight. I tend to enjoy movies more if I can't understand the language, or if there's no speaking involved at all, I always gravitate towards captioned foreign movies and old silent films for that reason. Feels like good brain exercise
