I've noticed that some people are not quoting a post right so I thought I'd explain it for people without a Web Design background:

When you quote someone it puts the following around what they said:
What they just said
The quotes are made up of an opening quote which begins it:
and a closing quote which ends it:
The only difference between the two is that the closing quote has a forward slash: / to mark the end.

It also has a name indicated by the = sign, so
begins a quote by me. You could also change this to lie but please don't do that!

If you quote a quote then it gets confusing, but the rule is, whoever you just quoted will end up on the outside. So:
what Homer said about me
what I said

The closing quotes are always the same.

I hope this has been helpful and not patronising as that's not my intention.
