I got a psp that came with a hannah montan game, which had good graphics. When GTA ChinaTown Wars came out, I asked for it and was so disappointed with the crappy graphics. To me, They shamed the name of GTA when they made it like. If anyone can suggest games to me that aren't first person games, please let me know. I want to be able to use my psp for gaming too.
At this time I only use it as a computer equivalent.

Try LittleBigPlanet, even i dont have it on psp, played it on the ps3 and it was sooooo amazing plus u can create dozens and dozens of levels. :)

or try out rock band unplugged, you can play dozens of songs there.

or maybe check out bejeweled. played it and im very hooked!! !! !! !! !!

you can download them from the psp.

None of them are FPS.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - My third favourite MGS game behind MGS3 and MGS1
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops - I know a lot of people dislike it and it doesn't seem to be cannon but I found this excellent and it is better than MGS2 and MGS4 in my opinion. The controls can be quite painful however.
God of War Chains of Olympus: If you like the God of War series you can't go wrong with this.

Tekken Dark Ressurection was a great game. My PSP doesn't work anymore and I am getting a new one for Xmas. I'm getting Mortal Kombat Unchained, Medal of Honor Heroes and a few other games. You should try Tekken Dark Ressurection though because Tekken is one of my favorite game series.

I think that Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is a must have, although I might be a little biased ^^;

I finally bought a PSP earlier this year, and I did so for one game - Lunar: Silver Star Harmony. If you're into RPGs, it's a fantastic story, and a very good remake of a classic. If you've never played an RPG before, this is a great starter RPG, as it's not too difficult at all.

I've also heard the Ys games were really good, but I've yet to try them.

You might also want to consider taking a look at the PS1 Classics available via the Playstation Network. They go for about $5-10 each, most of them are very highly acclaimed titles, and, best of all, you can not only download them to your PSP, but if you have a PS3, you can download to that as well (although I don't think there's a way to transfer saved games from PSP to PS3 and vice versa).

Both Sonic Rivals games, Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet.

None of which are first-person shooters.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is not only worth buying, but it is my favorite game gameplaywise and the game I've devoted the most time to of any game: 340 hours. It's best played with others however which is a problem because it's ad-hoc. The next MH game on PSP comes out soon and will have infrastructure. All of the portable Monster Hunter games are on the top 10 bestselling PSP game list in Japan and I've heard that one fourth of the Japanese population has played one of the games.

If you're into platformers I'd recommend Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. Unlike most side scrollers it actually uses 3D graphics, and it comes with Symphony of the Night and the original Rondo of Blood that was never released outside Japan as unlockable games, which is a pretty good deal.

In case you don't know what it's about, Castlevania is an action adventure game where you play as vampire hunters who fight and kill monsters in medieval europe as they try to defeat Lord Dracula. There's a variety of weapons and spells to use againt enemies, and there's lots of places to explore in the castle where the game is set. Plus the artwork was done by Ayami Kojima who's an awesome artist! :)
