I don't think that would work, from a practical perspective. People can lie about their age and say they are a kid. They don't even have to pick a birthday and stick with it. As, as far as parents, there's no way to verify it. Two problems with asking the kid. One, we have no way to verify that the "kid" really is a kid. And a kid could like and say, no, that person isn't my parent, if they don't want their parent to see their posts there. Plus, moderating exceptions to an age rule would be a lot of work for the moderators (or is that an Admin function), if it's even possible.
