AutSanc - How could we get more autistics?

I was talking about the idea of a community made up mostly of autistics (I am thinking at least 80% autistic).

Now, the main issue is this: How do we draw more autistics than neurotypicals? I had thought that we could offer lower rental or homebuying rates, but it seems that that wouldn't work. Offering jobs to autistics might work, but we can't ONLY hire autistics. The draw of a community designed solely for autistics might work for some, but I highly doubt it would be enough.

One idea that came up was this: a NPO that's run through the company that would own the rental properties, supermarket, etc. The NPO would fund relocations of autistics and pay a percentage of the rent, but only for autistics and only in that community. For example, a one bedroom for a neurotypical might be $1000 a month (higher than any one bedroom here), but the NPO would pay 50-60% of the autistic's rent, making it $400-$500 a month.

I like this idea, but I'm not sure if it's legal or if there's another idea that might work better. Any suggestions?

Edit: For the record, I don't mean a community like an assisted living community or anything like that. I mean a community like a small town.

Where I live you can get money to become group homes and or supportive living apartment complexes with also social well being. My organization might do this but I have to make sure the professionals are qualified as I know I can get the funding. As for autistics, I have autism and I am not a label. However living alone I am fine with and got someone that takes me around everyday but Sunday so this community living idea might be for some while others not. As for jobs I hire others with autism and other developmental disabilities. People want to work so finding employees is easy and people like living independently so there are always new people to move in. I think I should hire someone to find a large grant to create a special apartment-like complex that has a community indoor place in the center for activities. This might be ideal.

I heard that others tried employment and living in the same place for individuals with DD before and it failed. I do not think they had much PR ability or reach.

CI: I'm not sure I understand your post, but if I do, you seem to have misunderstood mine. After reading your post, I realized that mine was a bit ambiguous, so I edited it for clarity. Please read the edit and let me know if I misunderstood your post.

I was laying in my bed with the wireless mouse. I don't think I would move into such a place as my rent is already $245.00.

Why not an assisted living community? You could all pay for services of that those on the spectrum need.

1) automatic bill reminder service--helps you remember to pay bills on time

2) Perhaps the community could have a bell tower to remind us of regular meal times?

3) Transportation services for those who don't drive

4) matchmaking service that offers social skill tutoring

The point of this community would be this: I believe that a lot of what people consider disabling about autism (as an example: Difficutly socializing) can be linked to us being a minority everywhere we go. It's unhealthy mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. In a community where the majority is autistics, however, we could show that we are not, in fact, disabled.

As far as specifics go?

1. I think that the company (obviously it would have to be a company made for this specific purpose) that would own the apartments, bank (perhaps loans for home ownership), utilities, etc in this community would probably offer to take the money right out of the bank account automatically.

2. This is actually a pretty good idea for a small town community anyway. I like the idea of universal break times or meal times (though the specifics of how that would work with restaurants is something I need to explore).

3. Bus services are not unheard of, and while the community is small, the bus service would function differently. As it grows, I could imagine the community growing in such a way that the bus services would still be useful for going wherever the person needed to go (where I live, large areas are basically ignored by the bus service).

4. Again, not an issue if the majority of the community is autistics.
