Their idea is to (make money, and) keep alive something that is passing from living memory. And culturally, we tend to forget what's not right in front of us. So going to the places, led by historians, is good. Making a Nazi-themed pilgrimage of them is at best idiotic.

I think that's a stupid idea.

As a would-be historian, I have no problems with history tourism. If this "Hitler Tour" is handled in a thoughtful, scholarly manner, I have no problem with it.

There's already a huge amount of very bad and inaccurate revisionist history regarding WWII--anything that can help promote a faithful account of these events should be encouraged.

Of course, if it's being marketed as a "Hitler Holiday" how much scholastic integrity can it have?

I feel the same way. As a matter of fact, I would probably enjoy such a tour myself. (As much as you could "enjoy" such a morbid, depressing thing.)
