I am an adult now at 21 even though really i am a child in a mans body. do you find that people and society put you under a lot of pressure as aspies to behave maturley 'all the time' i don't really know what it means to be an adult because i have not grown up and i still throw tantrums ( i know pathetic aint it).

Its like people expect adults to always behave maturley and keep thier cool all the time but i still have the mentalitly of a kid.

what would your advice be about this?

I really am just incapble of being adult and mature about certain things.

I'm kind of there with you. I hate the thought of being 19 and labeled an adult I definitly don't feel adult. I still live at home and it makes me sad to even think about moving out on my own. I don't think I can leave my family just yet. Although I know society expects me to some day so I will.

But yea the other day I wanted to go fly my rc airplane and my mom was mad at me for some reason and wouldn't let me take my truck (she owns it) Made me mad and I basically had a tantrum :(

Maybe one day maturity will increase. But until then I don't mind being a kid at heart!!

I don't know why i have not made that leap from a child/teenager to an adult?

U still have an excuse cause your 19.

I suppouse i just find it harder than normal developing people to deal with my problems or my outlook on life and the way i look at things is just plain immature and childish?

I'm the same way in some regards, but torn in others. I strive to be independent, I'm highly intelligent and I want to be successful...but in a way, I really would just like to go back five-six years and relax a bit. My interests are mostly adult, but sometimes the way I handle myself, or when I sit and watch cartoons for hours or countless other things makes me feel like I would rather be a lot younger for a little while...

My goal is to always be a bit childish, so I can always enjoy myself. So that I know when I need to change something because it won't work for the long run. It does help to be able to have a certain level of "maturity" or at least being able to pretend you are mature. I am very good at pretending I am mature. But I am also very good at being childish or childlike. I enjoy acting so much because it allows me to be childish.

People think I act like a 2 year old at 16.
