Before I begin, this may get a little gross, as I am going to be ranting certain hygiene isuues about those around me at some point in this post. If you have a weak stomach for these things, do not read any further.

--------------------

My stepbrother and stepsister have no care for their hygiene. It's like they don't even care. Which is strange, as they are both NT. But anyway. I'm sick and tired of it. It's disgusting. My brother's room is a s**thole with his little poop crusties everywhere. He doesn't put effort into anything, this INCLUDES even small things such as wiping his ass. So as a result, he wears two pairs of pants all the time, to trap the poop in them. He doesn't even f*****g change that often either. Why does this affect me? Bugs love it. Bugs migrate from his room into mine. Bugs bite and naw on me as I sleep. I get mite infections because his room is so fuckng full of them that they come into minefor more space and food. I'M TIRED OF BEING GNAWED ON WHILE I SLEEP AND I'M TIRED OF GOING TO THE DOCTOR'S FOR f*****g INFECTIONS.

It's not my hygiene. I'm OCD about cleanliness. This guy is eighteen. Why don't my parents do anything? Because my stepfather can't get it through his head that his son has a problem and what he says is f*****g law. Why? Because he's the f*****g head male. I swear he's stuck in the middleages. Speaking of him, he kills all happiness in a room with his narcissism and negativity. And God forbid that I, a "child", argue with him. Everything in this house is about him and no one else.

I don't even want to get into a rant on my stepsister.

I just want to leave. I can't wait until I have a steady income and a full driver's liscence. I'm gone as soon as I do.

Sorry, I just needed to rant. I have no where else to do so.

None, I suppose. The support is appreciated as always.

Though I wouldn't hug me, I'm probably infested. :\

I'm a clean freak too. I feel stressed all the time because it bothers me intensely.

I do everything to keep this room clean short of sealing it and pumping it with powerful disinfectants. :\ The rest of the house is fine, it's just that the airflow goes directly into my room and everything ends up in here.

And Mouldy, that's actually a very accurate description.

Bugs and smells are the worst. I had to live in a dorm for a while with the messiest people ever so I know how you feel. I hope you can get out of there really soon. I can't believe some people can be so unhygienic.

You need out.

Until then can you use some kind of insecticide or insect repellant on yourself? It's bad when it's risking your health.

Sorry. :(

Jonsi.. thanks for the warning....

I thought I was the messiest person on the planet... but that... that's just gross.... :pale:

Maybe you can upload pictures of the room onto facebook so his friends can see?

Or search college-humour 'Roomate Confessions' for a few sabottage tips... I'm thinking collecting a few (wearing 2 layesr of disposable gloves of course) and putting them in an old chocolate spread jar... then wait...

@Keira, I know. Boggles the mind.

@hyperbole, it'll be likely several years 'til I move out. He has a decent job, so he might move out before I do, hopefully. I'll be okay, we don't get any of the really bad bugs here.

@Mouldy, I would totally get a hazmat suit if I could. :D So cool.

You guys wouldn't want to live with me, than even though I change myself. I have other but similar issues down there. I won't post the song, because I don't have a sense of humour about myself, right now.

The song is Mick Avory's Underpants. It's a good thing that it doesn't have any words. Just be happy that you don't live with me.

I'm so sorry, Jonsi. No child should have to live that way. You do have to get out of there if these problems are not going to be resolved by the people who own the home. There are mite and flea products, as well as good ol' Raid, to spray and treat your room. The Raid border is good for 3 months and you can spray routinely with the anti-mite and anti-flea products to keep them disinterested in your room. This should provide you some sanctuary to the madness, keep you infection free, and get you a good night's sleep for once.

CR: We know some people with AS have hygiene issues. What's bad about Jonsi's situation is not that there are hygiene issues with his step-siblings but that these are perpetual problems that the adults and homeowners are doing nothing to correct or contain, that their problems are adversely affecting other people and nobody cares, least of all them. No matter how much trouble you've got keeping yourself up, CR, you're a hundred times better because you can admit to your difficulties and want things to be different.
