Well I haven't been doing it my whole life or anything of the sort (so I probably shouldn't be posting in this section) but the few weeks I've spent alone were made a lot better when I went out among people and interacted, even if in a scripted customer/store employee way. You don't even have to buy anything of course, just browse. Although this would not be good advice for you if you are extremely socially anxious.

Dogs make good buddies though so I'm glad you have that company!

I would recommend watching your favorite kind of movie too.

If you're feeling in a social mood, maybe you could look and see if there are any events going on in your area that you could go to so you don't feel so isolated, if you are feeling isolated (I can't tell from what you wrote).

good porn and a fleshlight [if you're a guy] comes in awfully handy [just chock-full of puns, no? ]
a good hobby and entertainments are key. wrong planet is key. vigorous physical and mental exercise is key. long walks out in the country are key.

Write down a schedule of when things have to be done. Coordinate little alarms to remind you of a task. This way you won't forget to walk the dog, feed the dog, feed yourself, wash dishes, etc.

Laze about all week. Don't shower and don't change your clothes. Eat food straight from the fridge, ice cream from the carton, milk from the jug. Watch lots of television and play lots of video games. Play music loudly and dance around like you're in a video. Look through your family's things (optional). Read. Stay up late and/or take naps during the day.

Clean like crazy the day before everyone gets home.

Have fun!
