What is the best way to watch the most TV programs using the internet and a media converter? I'm sick of paying for all of these channels when we watch about 6. Advice on media converter and cheap laptop that can be dedicated to providing media for the TV?

Buy a Roku. I dropped Cable a month ago and now only watch HuluPlus, Netflix Streaming, YouTube and a few other specialty channels. The box is 80 bucks and so worth the price.

I'd like to know, from anyone who has a Roku, how does it connect? I have high speed internet, but not wireless, and my router is in a different room.

I'm interested in Roku for watching The Autism Channel, but I'll only do it if it's not a hassle to set up.

the one I bought my sister about a year or so ago connects via wireless only. according to their product site their high end model does use ethernet too though.
