Just wondering if anyone had the same problem with me and not wanting to watch (cringe at the sight) socially awkward situations on tv. I change the channel on the hint of a socially awkward situation, ie. in teen shows, movies etc. I don't like dealing with confrontational social situations like lying, cheating or outgoing people. You'd have to force me at gunpoint to watch an episode of Mr. Bean.

I only watch either factual (history/discovery) or science fiction. Is anyone else like this?

I have the same issue. If a socially awkward situation rises up in a movie or tv show, I have a desire to either skip that part, or walk out of the room until the scene is over. This results in me missing 1/3rd of most Adam Sandler Movies.

Oh boy do I have this! I also hate it when something someone has put a lot of work into fails, like a play or something.

Everybody has this. It's called empathy.
I only have this with characters I like.

Yeah, I always find myself cringing whenever something bad is about to happen to the protagonist in anything! Books, movies, TV shows, you name it... Even if it is something really funny, I still cringe when it's about to happen.

Though I'm not as bad now haha.

I hate Mr Bean. I would lock him in a room with that gormless twit from "Some mothers do have them" and see who comes out alive. With luck they would kill each other.

Everyone in this thread would hate Curb Your Enthusiasm. The entire show is built around the most ridiculously awkward situations you can imagine. Everybody Loves Raymond can be like this at times too.

Me. I've seen a lot of episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond and I noticed quite a few socially awkward situations. I didn't think it was very funny.
