My name is Tommy Corrielus, age 19, from Boston, MA and I have been diagnosed w/ AS last month. Since junior high school, I've had a major inability of building friendships and relationships w/ others and it was really painful. I once thought that friends were the people who like you. However, the actual meaning of friends was the "people who like you for who you are, have the same interests as you, and socialize w/ you" and therefore, I misinterpreted the word "friends". I had no best friends or could make any that successfully. It just hurts right inside me. I just want the best for me in the future. I want to finish college, get my profession, and find my woman.

I have trouble making friends too...I think a lot of people here do.

and also... i don't think you need the same interests for them to be friends, or at least look at some other definitions too.
dictionary.com....
1.A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
I prefer this one...
