My WP friend Chris is in his 40's and I mention he was marrying in December and instead of getting Kitchen/boring stuff ask for gaming related items. My sister said why he's 40 he doesn't need to be playing games. I said well I'm 25 and play them. Her: and your point? You have to grow up some time.

IMO her view is a sad one. Like I said I'm 25 and LOVE videogames and yet still make room for important College work. :-) So fellow video game players how old are you and have you heard anything such as "Grow up" when it comes to gaming? :-)

I will probably still play but I always think old gamers are losers.
That's why I picked up drumming so kids in my family will look at me more then that old guy that games.

I play games selectively.

I think they are more socially acceptable for adults to play nowadays.

:wall: I agree. That line also annoyes me, like many others I heard of. I mean, it's great they have their TV and comic books and all, but I am a gamer! That won't change for a long time. There will always be something I want to play. To say that all video games are only for children just isn't true. There are some for pre-teen kids, but I haven't noted many of those as being a majority sell.

Since you wander about ages, and who I know plays...

My mother is in my WoW guild, and is in her sixties waiting for a hopeful retirement this January. She still plays Everquest, and at the slowest pace I even seen. (Seriously. Nobody I met comes close. She played WoW since it's release, has all expansions, never deleted one of her six characters, played it at best 5 times a week for three hours, and only got one of those past level 60 this year!) I am thirty two, and have played games since I was three. My sister is only one year younger, and plays more on the leasure side than me to.

All Ages ! Never grow up

An older person once told me " you know you're old when ,yesterday looks better than tomorrow"

Toys are for kids ? I own 3 custom trucks, have a complete shop, 15 radio control toys, just mine are expensive

simple board games are for all ages
and video games are much more complex
you cant cheat the computer

If you like them, play them. It shouldn't matter how old you are. :)

^there you go. Old and playing. Video games will help delay Alzheimers as well as any sudoku chart!

Ok. It's annoyed me for hours now. In my oppinion, people who call someone else a negative label out of control need, more than diserve it plastered to their own forehead instead. 'sigh' There! I feel better now.

Video games can be for anyone. My mother is now in her 60s and will play computer games and facebook games. Really though, an attitude against video games on the basis of age is ludicrousness in my opinion.

Thanks fellow gamers/WPers. :-) I'm selective as well and like some games more than others. My love of Mario and Zelda I hope will never die. My special interests are in my name. :-) I agree it's silly to put down videogames. I understand life gets in the way so one must pick/choose perhaps buy a system when it becomes cheaper etc. but otherwise I see no problem with gaming either although I have gone months without playing and then buy a new game and you will not see me for a week. :-)

My dad is 54 and is a gamer.

Oh, and to the poster who thinks that "old gamers are losers"... Did I mention that my dad has a genius IQ and is one of the most successful people in his line of work?

You're never too old for video games. Im only 21, but I would hate to think I could ever grow out of loving games.
