i have approached a volunteering agency for some volunteer work
as any other AS tried this.
does it create problems
i told her clearly i am poor with communication, socially challenged and poor interaction
she was ok with it and i suggested for some data entry or back office work
i have talked only on phone and will be going to meet her
any ideas about this will it be dangerous or safe?

I just started volunteering with an animal shelter yesterday. The dogs didn't seem to be too upset about my social skills ;) Maybe you could get into something like this???

I visited the volunteering agency
they charged me 250bucks since they are middle people between NGO and volunteer
she offered some summer camp opportunity where i have to teach underprivileged children drawing and stories etc.

I think its gonna be tough on me...im poor with children.

They charged you $250?! I would have walked out of the door there and then. You are giving them your time - why, on any level, would you want to pay to volunteer?

I've had circumstances where people have asked me to pay to carry on volunteering. I told them, in not so many ways, to get stuffed.

No they charged me Rupees 250 which is nominal amount
She said that its for registration, newsletter and other small uses.

I would have never paid $250 for volunteering....thats quite a big amount

Well it might have helped if you put the currency code in as well - 'bucks' most usually refers to USD.

What kind of rupees? Indian rupees?

It's also the name of the national currencies of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Mauritius, Seychelles, Indonesia and the Maldives. Glad I cleared up the confusion.
