I got a peel yesterday. Wow, it looks like I was in the boxing ring for 12 rounds then got KOed. I hope it's worth it.

What about you? Any haircoloring accidents, waxing, massage, dirty pedicure stories?

Yup. Class photo the day after the night out... I look seriously hungover. It's going to be on the wall of the college for years to come too :(

I look nice with mascara until the next day... then it's night of the living dead meets dracula...

I asked my sister to dye my hair black as a teen and it went chemical green. Not even a cool punky neon green, just a kind of sick ill burned green. Everyone laughed at me.

I once went to get my very long, very messy hair neatened up.
I was told I looked better, noticed my reflection in the car window, and..
Well, that was when I disovered the look and feel of straight, neat, soft hair makes me.. Is meltdown the word? Either way, I started trying to rough it up, then I tried to tear it out to make it less neat, then I punched the car window open, burst into tears, ruined my hair and generally went insane.

I refused to let anyone look at me until it got better.
Oh, and makeup? Makes me look worse. Which is a shame, because I enjoy using it.

My mother permed my hair when I was in third grade. I looked like an awful version of Shirley Temple for my class picture. Everybody laughed at me. My mother really dressed me horribly and insisted on choosing my outfits (buying my clothes and choosing what I wore daily) until I was in seventh grade and I finally rebelled because I was tired of being made fun of for looking like a dork.

When I was done with high school, I decided to stop dying my hair black but that involved bleaching out the existing black dye. I ran out of time before I needed to sleep for work the next day. I ended up going to work with hair that looked like candy corn. My coworker said, "It takes a lot of courage to come to work looking like that." I was able to fix it that night. I got really painful, huge sores on my scalp from bleaching so now when I want to take out a dark hair color, I'll dye it lighter in stages because each lighter color will lighten the existing color. Three rounds of this allows me to dye my hair the color that I want to do next... and never do I look like a freak.

I used to get my hair cut in a short flippy style. It was urban and awesome. I usually went to this one stylist but moved to the other side of town so I went to another place in the same chain. The girl gave me a bowl cut. No joke. It was a muthaf*ckin bowl cut. I ran out of there and drove, bawling my eyes out, to my stylist, who snuck me in as her next client to fix it for me. She charged me 50% off the price (I didn't pay at all at the other place) as compensation for my trauma. She got a mega-excellent tip and I bought the styling product from her store.

In high school, I wanted to look real nice for the school yearbook picture, so I bought new makeup.

I ended up having an allergic reaction. Nice picture.

Self tanning disaster. My legs went bright orange because I sprayed too much on.

I am more lost in the beauty and makeup department at the drug store than an liberal studies major is in a chemistry lab.

While I certainly do have a concept of what a good makeup job should look like, I can't seem to implement this and last time I attempted to, some stranger made a comment to me which made me consider responding in a less than civil way if it had not have been the truth.

I was going to be Freddy Krueger one Halloween but had an allergic reaction to the glue for the mask.

letting my mom cut my hair

me cutting my hair

that perms actually need managing and are not a instant hair style. It took me having two and having a rats nest until they grew out.

buying the wrong shade of foundation

I went through a fascination with henna tattoos as a teenager. It was all fine, until the day I decided that putting one on my face was a good idea. I tried to draw a vine pattern, but it came out looking like a very large scar. My colleagues told me I looked like I'd been in some kind of serious accident, and all the customers were nice to me for the next few days at work!

When I first started to shave my legs when I was about 11 (although I already had legs like a bear for a year) I shaved it really close. I didn't know that you're supposed to leave it for a week until the hair grows back, so for a couple of days I ended up doing the same and I ended up with really sore legs for ages that really burned in the shower.
I didn't bother to shave again for months, not because of that mistake but because I couldn't be arsed even though I had fields for legs.

:?

I shave my legs daily. You have to use a good lather and a moisturizer afterwards.
