If a man came into the ladies' change room bearing flowers for all the ladies, I doubt many of the ladies would be pleased to see him. Even if they knew him well.

However this is an internet forum, and the ladies change room is about as private as if it was in the middle of the street with glass walls. So I dunno.

I like truffles too. I think flowers are best when you grew them yourself :)

Is this thread supposed to have some sort of abstract meaning?

What is it?

Not really. This was my attempt to symbolically sneak into the women's bathroom when no on was there and leave a flower to say we like you and we want to respect your space. (We think you're pretty and deserve a pretty space of your own if that's what you want.) Another effort on my part to set a better example for the younger guys.

I'm beginning to think we need a Mature Men and Women's forum and a Kids Men and Women's forum. Topics like this are really pointless and stupid.

Well, it didn't start that way.

You could always argue that giving cut flowers - especially ones from a shop - is pointless and stupid. However many florists and romantic NT? people will disagree and say flowers are a symbol of affection or appreciation.

For people who are not so adept at expressing emotions directly, I guess flowers could be pretty handy.

However, me and my mum hate getting them. I got some for my birthday this year and it was 35'C (near 100'F) in my house, and they wilted to oblivion inside 3 days. I'd rather have had the $150 they must have cost for a book or something that lasts a little longer. Food on the other hand, ie a night out - I appreciate and enjoy a lot more though the actual experience can last less time than an average bunch of flowers.

I wonder if not appreciating flowers - despite understanding what they symbolise is common among aspie women? I do like pictures of flowers though. They don't wilt and die.

Hmm.. Interesting.

I think i like flowers because of the energy and vibrance they give off.. help make a room feel alive, not dead. However, plants also do this. Flowers just add that splash of colour.

I'm more of a plant girl than a cut flower girl, plants with flowers, even better. :D

Flowers, like beauty, fade. My wife told me that she didn't care for store bought flowers much. She prefered the single little wildflower found on my walk.

I am not a girly girl, so that means I don't accept girly gifts.

Wobbegong, if I eat that truffle. It is going to go straight to my butt. But according to what I've heard in some other threads, men like to look at women's butts.

Well, I had intended this thread to be for the boys to post their pretty little trinkets for the girls...
