I think I might have ADD. I took one of those online tests where you are given a list of statements which apply to ADD and you are asked to grade them applying to you on a scale of 0-4 (4 being the highest). I got a 3 or 4 on most of the statements. I know I'm not supposed to be diagnosing myself (I'm going to most likely get tested in september), but this just clarifies how most of my difficulties are either due to Asperger's or they are all ADD traits.

My life will be so much easier once I find out...

Yeah no question I have inattentive ADD (ADHD-I) and I do not need a doctor
to tell me that. My thought is I'm poor due to the ADHD-I and I'm alone due
to Aspergers. Though people with ADHD can have major social skills problems
to. Again people get excited about an DX. But even if say the biological cause
of your problem was 100% from ADHD, the social skills problems you have (if
your now an adult )will be so deeply etched on your brain that it want make much
difference what your DX is. Myself I'm not taking any meds for ADHD so I'm still
hopefull with treatment I may get more physical work done. Oh I DX my ADHD-I
simply "I rather daydream every waking moment than do anything else".

My husband has ADD along with the Asperger's....he went along for a couple years seeing a shrink who DX'd him (and dosed the heck out of him) with depression. On a vacation to the states we were talking with my nephew who had just been DX'd with ADD and suddenly it all came together for us. When we got back home we saw a doc who specialises in ADD/ADHD and got the official word, along with the Asperger's DX (which neither of us had ever heard of). Now he's on Ritalin for the ADD as well as coaching, and it's all made a world of difference as far as being able to concentrate on his work when he should, and on his social life when he should. He also takes a half-dose of anti-depressant. He is still working on the social skills issues, which, as you said, are etched in his brain since forever.
