is there really some things i cannot do and why cant i just accept it.

i am struggling i want to make a game to learn the tools Game Maker 8.1 but the story i have come up with requires custom sprites and every time i try to do something that includes positioning a being in drawing to create the illusion of motion i just
seem to hit a blank dos that mean i just can't do it?

it drives me crazy to think that there is some things i cannot do cause all my life i have pushed my self learning every thing in my path that i wanted to learn and i cant be happy with just knowing some things i must know it all its a curse i guess, i seem to also be unable to handle a "normal" job like every one else when i think about just doing any job just to get money to go on my path to do what i like it just blanks me i just cant seem to get it what ever it is.

how many of you are this way i feel i may be the only person in the world who just doesn't get what every one else dose and it drives me nuts.

You will never be able to light things on fire with your willpower.

maybe not but i can try to gain the ability through practicing eventually might get to understand the atoms that make up the object and then eventually cause them to vibrate harder and faster so it heats up do this enough and it will catch fire.

but that is only theory and would require a life time of concentration and will power to learn

There's always a way to learn whatever it is that you want to know about.

There are things that you will excell at, and there are things you will have a hard time reaching even average proficiency in, even if you tried twice as hard as anyone else. But this is a trait shared by all human beings. For example, I will never become an olympic level gymnast, and never could have been even if I had started training early on. I am too tall, my legs are too short compared to my torso, and I have a bulky physique in general. It basically boils down to genetics, really, where your maximum capability in a certain discipline lies. If you are below five feet in height, I doubt you will ever be able to perform a slam dunk in basketball. It does not say anything about your capabilities in playing the game, just your chances of acquiring the ability to perform that specific move are slim.

Well, wisdom is when you understand your personal limitations as a human being.

Maybe just break it into smaller pieces? Or do smaller trial programs first and scale up.

I've felt like you many a time. It may sound syrupy to a degree, but everyone has gifts they bring to the table. You have to find the things that make you happy and give you fulfillment. Then you will worry less about what abilities others have that you do not, because you have gifts that make you who you are and that probably a lot of people appreciate them. There is no easy answer- with my AS, I have the coordination and spatial perception issues. I'm pretty far from playing in the NFL or the NBA. I am trying to be happy with who I am. Take Care.

One of the most difficult things in life to do is to understand your strengths and weaknesses.

The sooner you do it, the sooner you will be able to focus on what you CAN do and get good at it.

I could make a pages-long list of stuff I'd like to do (be an NBA superstar, join the French Foreign Legion, play a musical instrument, etc) but I am never going to do them. Instead of dwelling on what I don't have the physical capacity/talent/etc to do, I have picked the few things I can do and have gotten better at them.

If you are determined enough you will find a way.

Try thinking differently. If doing it their way doesn't work for you, change it and do it your way. Take the picture out of the... Erm picture for a moment and get the sprite doing what you want aesthetics aside. Guaranteed the block is something small.

It's also helpful to remember sprites as their lowest denominator - representations of numbers on a screen. Don't think in terms of game just yet, think much much smaller.

After working at a games co I lost all interest in playing games because I could only see it all as numbers instead of playing a game. Totally lost it's magic
