This is a poem of my obsession with different foreign cultures.

Quote:
"The Water Lily and the Ice Queen"

There was once a girl I had once met,
A rather plain-featured young lady who had
Just arrived, she was not especially attractive, though she had
A look of openness and fertility around her.

But then along the way as I was dating this girl,
I found another one, and
Lost my way as I often do,
And I found a ravishing beauty.

Her skin was peaches and cream, pure perfection,
Her blue eyes entranced me, and
Her call was something beautiful,
Not the gruff guttural voice of the plain one.

But beneath her calm, glacial exterior,
Was a boiling cauldron that threatened to,
Explode and take everything around
Her with it, including me.

But when I was attempting to court this young woman,
She evaded me, dropping hints at how
To speak like her, but I knew
That she wouldn’t really want me.

I kept lusting after this young woman, letting my
Emotions get away with me, and
It was tearing me apart, and her kindred
Did not appreciate me that much.

Until one day, I had thought about it, and discovered,
That the plain young lady was the one who
I truly loved, and those that she knew were,
The ones that truly cared for me.

I still think about the fate of the young woman,
Whose glacial beauty attracted me, but
With the warmth and fertility of,
The young lady – stuff the Ice Queen.
