I'd go so far as to saying that AS isn't even a bad thing - think about how our society prioritizes socializing, and how no one fits the mold of being "perfect".

I'd like to think of us all as superheroes - I'm an artist, and I think a lot of my artistic ability comes from having AS. I'm more visual and less verbal. So what? Sure, socializing doesn't come naturally for me, but that doesn't mean I can't learn.

I've found that if you study social rules in the same way you would study historical facts out of a textbook, then it gets easier. But having Asperger's is not bad. If you can find significance in your life, something to be passionate about, then why change a thing? You should be happy that you're not an average joe. Enjoy it.
