It was the season finale. Season 2, episode 1 looks promising. If it gets canceled, then episode 18 ended in such a way that it would be a complete story, but it works as a cliffhanger.

Sir Francis Drake (1961)


A long forgotten TV series from the early 1960s, made in black and white. Drake rescues a Spanish countess and her retinue from the sea after sinking their galleon. The countess is remarkably ungrateful and hatches a plot to blow up Drake's ship The Golden Hind. Will she get away with it? (Clue: no).

Drake is played by an actor called Terence Morgan, who looks a bit like Ricky Gervais. Warren Mitchell, who later starred in the notorious comedy series 'Till Death Us Do Part' is also in this episode.

The episodes on my 'unofficial' (ahem) dvd appear to be taken from French television, as all the credits are in French, but the dialogue is all in English and there are no subtitles. Odd.

The Glory (2022)

There are 16 episodes. I really enjoyed this South Korean revenge drama/mystery. Wonderful story. Well written and acted. The story was more complex then I imagined it would be.

It was streamed through Netflix, with dubbed in English. The dubbing was good. I will likely watch it in Korean with English subtitles.

Watching episode 1 again in Korean with subtitles. It is very sad and painful to watch. One gets a good feeling why she is justified seeking revenge.
The music is very nice. The only thing I recognize are portions of Gabriel Faure's Requiem, but the music is quite beautiful.

(This great freshman crime show got cancelled after one season; why?! )

From the article I read, it initially was a go for renewal, and S.W.A.T. was canceled. But the fans for S.W.A.T. raise a ruckus. So, CBS UNcanceled S.W.A.T. and canceled East New York. When I read this, I my first thought was "protesting show cancellations really work?" I literally just found out East New York was a show. That's when I saw my first commercial for it. AnonymousAnonymous, sorry your show was canceled. I've been through so many canceled shows, and sometimes I can get very riled up about it.

I'm watching The Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022), again. This time with English dubbed dialog. I cannot say I dislike dubbed programs, but it adds a layer, preventing me from getting immersed. The same is true for anime. I really enjoy the actors' natural voices with their nature inflections.
I just watched episode 7, A Tale About Sodeok-dong I. It is in this episode that Woo Young-woo meets her natural birth mother, Tae Soo-mi, who is a powerful, influential lawyer with political asperations. I know Young-woo does not know who Soo-mi is, but I don't recall if Soo-mi is aware who Young-woo is. Because of Young-woo was born out of wedlock, the discovery of her existence would be disastrous Tae Soo-mi's career and political ambitions.

I could go on and on about dubbing, but I won't. This is TV Episode You Have Just Watched, not How Do You Feel About Dubbing.
