I never cry when I'm sad.I used to cry when i was angry or when I had meltdowns because of frustration or fear but never when I'm sad.

Lemme see I don't know the difference between being depressed and sad. I don't cry until any emotion of mine is too much to bear. I might be an un-diagnosed bipolar.

I'm not sad or depressed for long periods. But when I'm really sad I cry or sob. The funny thing that such events may occur seemingly randomly, as if I can hide my sad feelings for a while, but when I fail with hiding they come to the surface by surprise.

I am all over the place with this. I show more appropriate emotions when watching a movie than real life. I cry when I am supposed to during movies and actually too much. In real life I have trouble crying. I have to force it a lot of the time. The only time I am able to cry in real life is when I am actively being attacked or bullied. Otherwise I just can't cry most of the time and I get depressed a lot. 99% depressed 1% happy. That one percent is when I am having a manic episode.

I cry when I'm sad. It's just the type of person that I am.

I mostly cry during meltdowns. Rarely do I cry when I am sad.

Can't say that I can identify sad. I cry, but I don't know if I'm sad or mad or confused or overwhelmed.

Mostly when I cry it's because I have something irritating my throat. I hardly ever cry for emotional reasons, but I'm hardly ever sad. In fact, I don't even really know what it means to be sad. What is sadness? Usually it's defined as the opposite of happiness, but, I just don't get it. I'm rarely ever happy, but I'm rarely ever sad. I'm just content, complacent, satisfied, or whatever else you want to call it.

I don't let myself, otherwise I'd be crying all the time. E.g. at work. But there were a couple of times in privacy when I just couldn't hold it back. When my marriage ended. And more recently when I realized that my girlfriend is slowly drifting away and there is nothing I can do about it.

I think I've got a bit better with this. For a long time I completely restrained my tears but that meant that all of these things had to come out another way. But since I've been trying to stop self-harming so much I've started to let myself cry when it's overwhelming, though only in the privacy of my own home.

When I am really deeply sad, then I don't cry, there is nothing which is done except feeling pain.

Maybe I would cry, if i would think of doing so, so that other can see my pain, however, in this state I don't think about this. Only later, when I feel a little bit better, but still very sad, then I start crying.

thanks,
anton

Whats crying? And I dont get sad, more mad about things.

If someone close died I would like to cry, but may not be able as sadness is currently foreign to me. I'm so lucky and fortunate to have this incarnation and so are most of you!

This is true for me too. I can be set off by something very small on television or in a film, but in real life I didn't cry when a boy I had known for nearly 10 years died.
