Log in problems

Has any W.P. ers have trouble entering the site?

I've had 4 fail attempts yesterday, and 3 today. The symptoms are a frozen page in the midst of a successful log in and subsequent failure to log on for hours, or a successful log in and log out, but the next login attempt is a fail/ hour glass icon. Wait another 1-2 hours and your logged OK, but the fail cycle repeats.

The site seems to be experiencing turbulence at the moment. It might be related.

A lot of turbulence it seems!
Something that may be worth pointing out - when the site went down last night there was a brief period where it said that there were no members and I was logged out, but I was back on shortly after without having to log in again.

The site said it had too much load. Hard to believe. Perhaps it was poorly coded.

The entire site (while logged in) was inaccessible a few moments ago and I was shown a "fatal error".

I got this error as well along with posting, login, and other oddities. WP is not a happy server right now.

Yeahh... about that.

The WP server is under an extreme amount of load, which is causing all the issues everyone is describing. We're looking into the issue and making tweaks.

We're workin with Alex to come up with solutions. Coming up with different ideas to take load off the server.

We've come up with a plan to take some of the load off of the server, it's going to involve putting the site in read-only mode for a little while. Not quite sure at this point when we'll need to do that. I'll try to keep everyone updated as best I can.
