Suggestion: Moderator's blog of interesting forum posts

It is not possible for me to read all forum posts but many apply to me. I think it would be really cool if the moderators could get together and run a blog together (Unless they do, and I just need it pointed out to me). The posts would only need to give a brief overview of forum threads that moderators think are important. Could also talk about old forum posts that people may find interesting again.

Just an idea, I love the site anyway.

A 'threads of interest' thing might be good

A moderator's blog of interesting posts would be quite a mishmash because we all find different threads / posts to be of interest and we still would only cover a fraction of what most other members would consider to be interesting anyway.

The other issue is that WP has a serious shortage of moderators at the moment (Moog is the only active front line moderator now) and the rest of us have very little time to read many posts on the site now!

Anyway, back to your original suggestion there is no reason why one or more of the most active members couldn't create threads linking to their favourite or most interesting threads. Such threads about threads would work or sink down the boards depending on whether they were interesting or not. There may be some mileage for someone to try creating such a thread?

Sounds like an uneccessary addition to their workload.

It doesn't really have to be done by the mods though, it could be a more general community thing.

Provided it just doesn't become a free for all where everyone just uses it to promote their own threads / posts! Maybe there should be a rule that nobody could declare their own posts to be "of interest"?
