Why no hobby forums?
I find it a little interesting that we have forums for interests, time wasters, arguments, and high art, but not for hobbies.
I suspect that it is not unusual for aspies to collect hobbies. If i wanted to talk about photography with people who have a similarly analytical mindset i could do so in the art/writing/music forum but if i wanted to talk about cooking, watchmaking, or general DIY there isn't really an appropriate spot.
I'm not demanding a place to do that (or even offering to participate in such forums) - there are plenty of other sites on the internets for those things - just curious if this has been suggested before or not.
I think that for some of us, topics like computers/math/science or art/writing/music already describe some of our hobbies. I think if anyone wanted to discuss their hobbies, they would normally just look for the appropriate forum to post it in. General DIY stuff might be appropriate in the computers, science and technology section depending on what it is, discussions about books are normally posted in the art, writing and music section whereas all miscellaneous stuff would probably be put in the random discussion section. Since there are so many different possible hobbies available, it would be a bit counterproductive to have a different forum for each of them and I think it would probably clutter up the board.
