My question why did tribal society without classes change into class based society did Karl Marx have an answer was it the technology ?

Tribal societies actually did have classes, just like a pack of wolves have a hierarchy.

The shift to agriculture created a class of land owners and governments to tax them. Those who owned no land and had to sell their labor ended up on the bottom.

Both responses are fine by me so far as they go. The economic changes including the shift to urban concentrations modify the hierarchic structure and technology makes the two ends of the pecking order more differentiated.

I would ad that it is inevitable. The Socializers and Socialized by their nature require a structure, and the Powervolk ensure that it is stratified, usually putrting themselves at the top. It aplies even in a single family.
