Why do so many people in the entertainment business use drugs as often as they do?

Expectations, often impossible to meet; a subculture of peers accepting drug use as recreation with influence, finances, to obtain an unlimited supply of drugs, not normally accessible to the general population. Research suggests a link between creativity and a greater propensity for addiction in general, but it's not clear how much of it is environmental or genetic. It seems reasonable that all these factors would lead some in the entertainment industry to fall fast at a younger age that what we normally hear about among people in the general population.
Access to instant gratification is a huge problem, I think, not just in the entertainment industry but a growing problem in society, in general. It was hard to come by when I was young; but now there is easy access to it for more people than ever.
Finally, we hear, about every detail of personal lives of people in the entertainment industry, by nature of what they do. Prescription drugs, particularly pain killers are a huge problem in the general population. We don't normally have access to what led to the demise of the more common young folks, in the death notices of the local paper. The factors are probably similar in many cases, but just not in the spotlight.
