I want to move out, but I need money to do that, and it's easier said than done, but I think I might possibly be ready if I don't live far from my parents!

I got my first apartment at 23 and it was great only cost me $100 a week.
My mom was in no hurry to force me out which is good since it took awhile to save enough to do so. :D

At the age of seventeen in order to attend university, or at least I was there most of the time anyway. During holidays, however, I had no option than to live with my parents.

It was when I found a job, almost right away after graduating, that I was able to move out permanently. My mother tried to find all the ways she possibly could to prevent me getting out, but I was highly assertive at resisting these because I simply wasn't able to handle living with my parents.

Yet I had been told that if I was to leave school and not go to university, I was getting shown the door at 16. In retrospect I would have been vulnerable out there in the world on my own, yet due to an emotionally abusive father in particular I would have been quite happy with that option.

I bought my first house at 22 and moved out of my parents house a few months later. 16 years later, I still live in it.
