At work and when going out alot of people have commented on how quiet i am, i don't know why i am quiet i just cannot think of anything to say or i know it is too much like hard work. Do you think other people think there is something wrong with me? And how quiet are you guys?

This usually depends on what extent somebody has AS. Those with mild AS are usually more talkative than those who are moderate or severe AS. For example, I have the mildest form of AS, and I can be quite the talker.

Id call myself moderate and I prefer to listen and speak only when I have something important to say.

People who know you wont mind its just part of who you are even among NTs not everyone is the social butterfly chatterbox type.

It will also depend a lot on how comfortable you are with the people. With people Ive just met I tend to say the bare minimum I can get by with but among those Im familiar and at ease with (and its a topic that interests me) I contribute to the conversation fairly frequently.

Oh and yes its considered normal for a person with AS to be more quiet than NTs.

I've always been a quiet person. When i was younger, ppl would thought i was shy.

Most of the time i only speak if someoneone else says something to me first. I don't know how to start a conversation and am not interested in general 'chit-chat'

I've always been a listener

I would call myself mild and I'm extremely quiet. Even with people I know and consider friends I will sometimes sit for an entire meal and hardly say anything.

With people I don't know/I'm not comfortable with, I'm really quiet, but not around friends. Actually when I'm with friends, if I'm nervous about something, I start talking about nonsense very quickly.
On the other hand, if too much talk tires me out (among friends), I'll zone out.

I'm quiet most of the time. Conversations tire me :? unless with good friends ot family, then I can be quite talkative.

That's a stunningly accurate description of my conversational style (or lack thereof).

I'f often too quiet for my own liking.
But that's mainly due to the stuff being talked about being way too boring for me.
And i don't really have much common interests so i don't talk about interesting things much.
Mostly it's just commenting on what others say and talking a bit about that.

This may sound odd.
But as a kid i talked the most of anyone in the family/class etc.
I never shut up at all and was interested in everything.
Than at 10 i turned around 180 degrees and turned into the most quiet guy in the family
Noone would have expected this from me having experienced me as a kid.
It's kinda funny how things can turn out.
Talking about a transformation...

I am quiet to start off with but then I get more talkative. However, I won't talk for the sake of it. If I don't want to or don't feel like it I will keep conversation to a minimum.

I'm generally quiet, and I find it difficult to do 'small talk.' It's boring and pointless and I quickly run out of things to say.

In a group conversation, I only usually speak when I feel something needs to be said. I just don't see the point in saying pointless things for the sake of talking.

In greetings, useless smalltalk (weather, etc.) and business communication (not the politics, but I haven't really experienced much of that), I have built up some things to say, which get me by nowadays.

I have always been the quietest on in any group I'm in. If the conversation isn't around something I'm interested in, I just can't think of anything to say, even when I try to force myself. And it seems as if my mouth quits working whenever I'm at work around the other employees as they seem to only talk about utter nonsense.

It doesn't help that it's hard to understand alot of what people are saying to each other as it often sounds like, "Wah, Waah Wah Waaah!" due to CAPD.

I'm very talkative. I'll start talking and I'll ramble on and on, because it's hard for me to stop.
