Have you experienced a positive change in yourself, negative, or are you about the same as you were before finding/posting on WP?

I've learned one or two things. it may have affected me negatively because before WP i'd kind of conveniently forgotten about the whole spectrum thing. this may have hurled me into a different situation where i would have seen no limits to my ability. or something. On the other hand, there are some very cool people here, two of which i've already met and one more at the very top of my priority list

WP has affected me positively for the most part. It's kept me out of the local mental health system, because I was very depressed and living with my parents when I joined. I was happy within days of joining this site, back in the Summer of 2004. I went through a rough patch in 2007 that sorted itself out in 2009. My local mental health office wouldn't take me back, so I've decided to be a regular poster like I was in the years 2004 to 2006. :)

Positively, except for the carpal tunnel syndrome.

I haven't really thought much about it. I don't really feel like much has changed because I already spent a lot of time on the computer before I became a member.

It taught me a thing or two and helped me improve my maturity.

It's effected me in good ways and bad, but for now the ratio is leaning more towards good :D

All positive for me. I have felt much better since joining Wrong Planet, and it's only been a couple of months. I have learned a lot about myself, about others, even a little bit more about autism. I am seriously thinking about going for a degree in psycology, so I can be one of the good shrinks. :D

Thank you all for helping me figure myself out. :)

Mostly positive. I feel I have finally found some people I can relate to. It's good to know that there are other people like me out there.

On the flipside, I think I spend too much time on here that could be spent reading or being constructive in other ways.

I would say more positively than negatively, but REALLY, I don't think it is a huge force in either direction. I am here a lot, but that is because it is part of my routine now. Not everything in my routine is necessarily positive--it just....is.....

I understand myself & some of the things I'm dealing with a lot better than I did before. I have been here 15 months now & have not really been involved with any controversy & I have been considered a controversial member & caused problems on most any other forum I've been within half a year. So either this forum community is bringing out a better person in me or it is a lot moe accepting of my quirks than other forums; i think it's both. I also met the love of my life on here sort of accidentally & so I defiantly voted for positive. I have NOT really noticed any negative effects on myself from being here

In my experience WP has been useful in contributing to my understanding of AS, a mutual pool of experience allows you to find different ways to express your own characteristics and stuff that happens in your life.
