In the "100 ways to annoy someone with Aspergers" thread, I keep seeing the cursor for a link rather than the typical arrow. If clicked, it takes you to something named "VoiceFive survey" which I'm almost sure is trying to do bad things to my computer. Is this an ad that WP is aware of, or can anyone else even see it? I'm not dumb enough to take the survey or anything, but even when it's clicked once and closed, it doesn't go away. Ideas? I don't know much about computers, so I don't know if it's even possible for it to just be my computer since it's specifically that page as far as I know.

Upon closer inspection it said something about a banner ad in the URL...but reloading the page made it disappear. Not linked to the specific page apparently.

I'm getting this popup every time I make a post in the Parent's thread - the post box is outlined in black, and the whole thing acts like a button, so every time I mouseclick, a window opens. As I do a lot of editing and re-writing, it means I've opened four or five windows.

Is this intentional? I understand the site needs to be monetized, but this particular ad is well beyond anything I've ever seen before on any forum. It's really disruptive to one's train of thought.

I had this happen several times yesterday and twice today including right now when I typed in this text field. It turns parts of the page into a link to this site:

http://survey2.voicefive.com/wix/p93766975.aspx

This happened on another forum I post on too and that admin said it was not supposed to be there.

As usual... switch to Firefox (for example) and add on "AdBlock Plus".

To be even safer, also add "NoScript".

Then, to be even more confident that links will not take you somewhere evil, add WOT (Web of Trust).

There's also a new flash advert blocker as well, which is really good for reducing the workload of older computers.

I've been browsing the site with adblock off for a while, and did not see the pop up. That doesn't mean it isn't there, but it could be you guys have picked up a malware of some description, I'd give your system a check.

I mentioned it to Sliqua earlier and he says it appears to harvest various bits of information about the users computer which isn't dangerous in itself, but may be setting the user up for a subsequent attack of some sort.

Since the internet is riddled with such nasties the best thing is for people to protect themselves using the various browser add-ons. Personally I never come across any such nasties due to the Firefox add-ons blocking them.
