It was a good season but last night was awful. The Kings outplayed the Coyotes for sure but the refs were awful all series. Between Brown diving anytime he was touched and than getting away with knee on knee. Itt is going to be a long off season.

Well, it's starting to end. The season is almost over, so begins the long summer with the off-season. :x

As the screen name would suggest I am a Canucks fan.

Disappointing end to the season for us but oh well. The Kings just wanted it more than us and they're showing that their series win over us was no fluke as they're beasting the playoffs.

A #6 seed against a #8 seed in the Cup Finals. Who would have thunk it? As the saying goes ... "that's why they play the games." 8O

I guess I'll be pulling for the Devils as I have gone to many Albany Devils (formerly the River Rats) games over the years. If NJ wins, the Cup will almost certainly make a visit to Albany.

Isn't Martin Broudeur the goalie for the Devils?

Good point. As long as the Devils have Brodeur, they will always have a fighting chance. It's been 9 years since they won their last Stanley Cup, though, so I think most folks thought Marty's Cup years were behind him.

Speaking of goalies, what is one goalie ( all-time ) would you want?

Have to go with Ken Dryden. Yeah, he sullied himself by playing for the Canadiens ... but he is also the greatest goalie in the history of my almost-mater Cornell.

* sorry for the double post *

Well... tonight could end the season right now, and the Kings " could be " holding the Stanley Cup. I don't know how to feel about that? :?

It is what it is. If you had told me six years ago that two of the three California teams would win their first Cup in the coming years, I would have thought the Sharks would be a lock to be one of them. But Anaheim hoisted the Stanley Cup in 2007 and now only a miracle will keep the Kings from doing it this year. Meanwhile, the Sharks are in turmoil as an organization. Oh well.

... and how about Tim Thomas deciding to take a year off. Kind of excited to see Tuukka Rask take over the #1 slot; he's been groomed as the Bruins goalie of the future and is more than ready to step into his big boy shoes.

Yeah because Los Angeles is more of a basketball kind of town* somewhat of a baseball town *, so when a hockey team is in position to win the cup that's a bit strange for me. Then again Dallas has a Stanley cup as well, even though it's a football town above all else. :?
As for Rask, the guy has talent * He is from Finland * 8) I wouldn't be surprised if in the future he takes the starting job.
