hi,

my 2.5 yr old son is on fish oil 1000mg per day for the past 8 weeks. It has surely helped a lot - significantly reduced stimming and much better sleep. language and social skills no improvement though.

have u tried fish oil for ur children? how helpful was it??

also did any other supplements work for ur children?

I find them to be extremely helpful; both calming and cognition enhancing.

I bought it for myself and don't really notice anything (maybe the mg isn't enough for me), but my daughter asked to try it and she says it makes her happier.

My 6 year old AS son has been on fish oil tablets for well over a year. He does seem to sleep a little better but his overall behaviour has not changed due to fish oils in my opinion.

We tried it. No noticeable improvements to behaviour for my sons, but it really helped their eczema.

We have found that food dyes and preservatives have a significantly negative effect on mood and behaviour for our children, and avoid those. No other supplements or dietary changes have had significant effects for us.

Bought it for my 4 year old daughter and it seems to act as a laxative for her. It was recommended by her naturopathic doctor as one of the supplements she takes. Taken her off it for now as we several food sensitivities and toileting training issues to deal with before re-introducing it.

I have been taking it myself for about 3 months. I don't feel it has any effect. As annotated.Alice said artificial dyes and flavor elimination made the most substantial changes with my daughter. Basically anything chemically processed causes hyperactivity and irritability with us.

My son has been on Fish oil tablets for about 2 months now and although we had an improvement in language and concentration, I feel this was mostly due to maturity. Overall I think a change in diet (Removing additives, preservatives and the fish oil) has helped and is certainly better for general overall health

Everyone in my family uses it. My husband was prescribed it for his blood pressure and his arthritis. I use it for Mild depression and attention issues. Both kids seem to do better when taking it, less itchy skin and slightly better attention.

That said, what works for us won't necessarily work for everyone. I have not heard of any negative side effects for taking it.

There is a product called Krill oil that has 10 times more antioxidants than fish oil

My children take it and I don't really find it makes a difference but because their diet regarding fish is not good, i keep giving it to them. It does help with their skin they are both teenagers and don't suffer from acne.

We stop it for a period and they started to have acne problems once they started back it seems to help.

I have used them before and started them again. I'm in a different state then I was back then, So I don't think it is safe to say anything but It is harder for me to memorize on them now but I am more clear minded on them and clear mindedness is good in my book.

I take fish oil to lower my cholesterol. I have not noticed any difference in regards to my behaviors.

They're very useful to those who seek to make a profit from selling rendered fish fat.
