Can this sort of music creep out a 'classy' girl?

I'm a classy guy but I listen to gothic and symphonic metal much to the surprise of many people who get to know me. I was wondering whether this kind of music is somewhat creepy or freakish for a classy girl?

Imagine you're a cute strawberry blonde who listens to jazz and whatever and you hear this, what would you think of me?

I'd think if you're looking at someone else's definition of 'classy', the fact that you're even into an esoteric enough style of music to ask says you already have a rift in interests and priorities.

I think this is where 'know thyself' comes into play and worry more about finding what's right for you based on who you are.

I'm not sure I understood a single word of what you've said. But I like that kind of music, I love it. I just don't want it to creep out the 'nice girls' because there is no way I'm going to date a girl with black tainted hair, tattoos and piercings all over.

 A few threads back that was exactly the type of girl you were trying to pick up. It was something about "how do I flirt with metal chicks?"

Anyway, Even if a girl doesn't like that sort of music at all (because she likes only jazz, in your example) she probably wouldn't care if you like it just so long as you don't make her listen to it.

I watch a very little bit of the videos but I have listen to some of my friend's radio show that have songs like them.
Are there any short videos of them type of music?

I hear of this song but I don't know if this links in with your videos.

Hey! How dare you call my favourite genre of music and some of my favourite artists "creepy" or "freakish" (with negative connotation)!

At any rate, for heavens sake, I'm not sure how you got the idea that this sort of music is super alternative and only listened to by extremist goth/emo/whatever people. I would almost call this music mainstream, or close to it.

Not sure what you mean by "classy" girl, but I'd say somebody who listens to jazz (in this day and age) would definitely be more alternative than somebody who listens to symphonic mental. Many of my friends listen to this music, or variants of it, and I guess they would fall under your definition of "classy" (university educated, well dressed and spoken, cultured, no tattoos or piercings apart from the ears)?

Anyway, this is all rather absurd, thinking in stereotypes like this won't help you any in the real world. In truth, these days you can tell very little about a person from their external appearance (no matter how diverse or extreme modern people seem to look).

Also, you may want to note that many modern fans of classical music or musically educated people are also fans of symphonic metal due to its cross-over elements.

btw, if you're a fan of symphonic metal and you haven't heard this one yet, check it - this is the absolute bomb.

Why don't you ask your classy girl what she finds classy.

If you wanna excite any hot young babe of any race color or social class Ill tell you the song to play:

"Baby Got Back" by Sir Mixalot.

Something about the early Nineties' rapper's sensitive meaningful poetic lines like: "My anaconda don't want none unless you got buns-hon!" just enchant the ladies!

Back in the nineties that frequently requested song at my dance parties was ALWAYS requested by the bride and her girl friends.

Despite its seemingly sexist lyrics no male partier ever asks for it.

Actually- I can see how plus sized women would find the song empowering. But most of my requests for it came from perfectly slender young ladies.

So theres no accounting for taste.

What you listen too is probably too classy and esoteric.
Instead of being creeped out, she might be intimidated by it.

But if she is "classy" ( ie comes from a high brow family) and maybe likes classical music she might well be open to symphonic metal.

I think if you stop dividing women into categories like "classy" and "creepy," it will help your dating life.

Just a suggestion... :)

If Epica and WT creep somebody out then I don't want to know them. In fact I find anybody who dislikes Burzum to be a bit odd :)

I prefer the term 'cultured' for people who conform to my tastes. I would go for that angle, visit art galleries, indulge in classical music and read often. Unfortunately women who enjoy the arts are rare, good luck nonetheless.

I think music being being a big part of weather someone likes you or not is snobby, doesn't matter how nice they are. "Classy" girls aren't the only nice ones. Its ok to have different interests, Its even more interesting when your going out with someone who has different tastes in music or hobbies.

I know a girl who hates what I listen to and thinks it's creepy. Now you're saying everybody should like Symphonic metal?

It's like saying everyone likes Michael Jackson. I don't.
