More than one user account

Hello there,

I used to be a member on this site a few years ago and I discontinued my usage due to my username being unique across the internet. Since I used that name various places, it was possible for people to google me and find out information that I had written on this site and people were using it to bully me. I really want to be part of this community again but I can't use that name anymore

I know that WP has a strict one-name-per-person policy (or at least it used to) but I was hoping that I could please get permission to use this new name. I will never use my old one again so it is still only one account for me.

Can a moderator please respond? I really want to follow the rules, I don't want to get banned Please let me post with this new account? I contacted Alex about this a long time ago but I didn't get a response. I was a well-known and well-liked member of the time and I feel that I have more to contribute.

When I was here before, it was a bannable offense. I just wanted to be sure that I would not get in trouble. I'd still prefer that a mod answer this. I am not sure who the mods are anymore but I remember Makuranoshi (spelling), Lau, DW_a_mom, Quartermass and another mod whose modship was discontinued so I know that one doesn't apply anymore.

I've seen recently that the person using the new account would PM or post to a moderator what the old account name was, and the mod will then ban the old account, leaving you to use the new one.
But the rule seems to be more relaxed of late.

My old account being banned would be acceptable to me.

Well it's logical in my eyes...
The most active moderators at the moment are Moog, hyperlexian and spongy - I recommend posting this in the Moderator Attention thread at the top of this subforum.

If you can remember, PM us your old user name. Just keeps things tidy.

We don't enforce that rule as hard as it seems the old mods did. It's only when people use multiple accounts for monkey business that it's a problem.
