I'm so sick of pro-Israel people!!

Ok, that title may seem racist, but allow me to explain. I have no problem with people who love Israel as a nation. I don't really understand patriotism that well, but I can understand that people can be supporting of a nation.

But what I am so sick and tired of is people who paint Israel as a "victim who has not done anything wrong" and its enemies as "brutal tyrants who want to slaughter all the Jews, who hate life and love death".

Take Hamas for example. Yes, I totally agree and understand why they are listed as a terrorist organisation since they have supported suicide bombing missions and launch rocket attacks on Israel. But it makes me so angry when people say that the are "barbaric extremists". Well, did you know that female journalists don't even need to cover up their heads when reporting in Gaza? WHAO!! I BET SOME OF YOU DID NOT EVEN KNOW THAT!! YOUR IMPRESSION OF HAMAS IS THAT THEY WOULD WANT TO MAKE ALL FEMALES COVER UP FROM HEAD TO TOE LIKE THE TALIBAN. Also, Hamas do not hate Westerners. If they did THEY COULD HAVE EASILY MURDERED JIMMY CARTER WHEN HE WENT TO VISIT. Also, did you know that when the pro-Palestinian activist Vittorio Arrigoni was murdered, the first thing they did was hunt down those who murdered him. Arrigoni was an ITALIAN. If Hamas really hated people by nationalities, they would not give a sh** that some Westerner got killed because apparently they are "infidels".

And then I talk about Israelis. Yes, I understand that Israel needs to defend itself from rocket attacks. But what they did was totally ridiculous!! BURNING THE SKINS OF CIVILIANS WITH WHITE PHOSPHORUS!! Did you know that white phosphorous is definitely not the choice of weapons for taking out rocket launchers? Also, did you know that twice as many Israelis die from car accidents every month than from a few years of rocket attacks? And then they have no problem slaughter Palestinians but the hundreds.

Of course, Hamas has done bad stuff too (as I mentioned I agree they should be designated as a terrorist organisation) and Israel also is a great nation that has done many positive things as well. But my anger are at those who completely demonizes Hamas to the point where they twist the truth and then they have no problem with the actions of Israelis to a point where any criticism is "anti-semitism".

Normally, I would just let other's opinions go by no matter how weird I find it to be, but I believe that this lie of good/evil needs to stop in order for peace to even have a chance to flourish. How can there be peace when you tell lies about others, that as a result, you will demonize the group and encourage violence against the group? Or how can there be peace when a group is not allowed to have criticism and everything they do must be "completely right"? If that were the case, the group would be able to get away with lots of things and injustices.

If Hamas wanted to stop the reprisals, they could pick anytime they wanted. All they have to do is stop and the Israelis will stop.

They have stopped. They haven't done anything in the last couple of years. While I have no problem with Israel preventing weapons from entering Gaza, they have in the past purposely and intentionally blocked ADDITIONAL things from entering Gaza ASIDE FROM the weapons. And they continue to restrict goods from flowing in. Also, look what happens when you get a moderate government such as the one in the West Bank. Israel comfortably continues to expand settlements, knowing that they will not suffer any consequences for doing so. You have to understand that while its inappropriate for the Palestinians to kill Israeli civilians on purpose, they don't see how they can get Israel to respect their territories.

All they have to do, is respect Israel's right to exist, renounce their campaigns to destroy Israel - and live up to their side of existing agreements. One concern I read and hear, repeatedly, is this: Israel makes real concessions. They implement their side of the agreement. Then Hamas and the other Palestinian organisations fail to carry out their part of the agreement, and press the Israelis for more.

As for spreading lies, I agree that there are Israelis who are guilty of that. But so is Hamas. The amount of staged photos, of staged situations, and of false reporting in the press about many situations is staggering. They will do something such as fire rockets from a schoolyard, then, when the Israelis return fire, accuse them of deliberately targeting a school. It isn't all one sided. At least many Israelis want peace. Even Palestinians who want peace don't support Hamas - because they don't want peace until they've destroyed Israel. Which, of course, gives those Israelis who don't want peace an excuse for their attitude. Not that I'm saying it's right, but it does play into the hands of the Israeli hawks.
