Photoshop - pasting images in?

How to do that without white dots round the image itself? Suggestions please. :)

White dots or white segmented lines? If it's lines, the pasting operation automatically "Selects" what you just pasted.

Edit > Clear selection ... if I can remember correctly.

Ah. OK - now how to paste images in? I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it in Photoshop.

Forget it. I worked out how to do it - File > Place. :)
