When I bring up anime, most people will unsurprisingly only associate it with either children's stuff or hentai. Almost no one has ever heard of the series I like, even if they're popular within the online anime community. Like with My Little Pony, it's difficult to find adult fans of anime outside of the Internet (at least where I live).
