Sometimes I tell myself that I do not have AS, and as an experiment I tell myself to try and be excited and not flap.
So I sit there straight faced and not moving for a second an then it happens, THE FLAP. My legs twitch and jump around and I contort my hands and arms a little bit then sigh.......... yep, I'm on the spectrum.
I've not been in a room full of aspies before, and have only hung-out with one friend that has AS, we sometimes trigger each other to flap. It's funny and feels nice in a strange way.
I wonder what would happen if a large group of us sat in a big circle and all focussed on not flapping?

Even normal people twitch their legs, though.

But, yeah I think that's called 'stims.'
It's hard to stay still. I think it bothers people. XP

Actually, I find pushing against something or sitting in a position that most people would find awkward or strange can help with stopping.

Interesting, as I've always been comforted and calmed by pushing against and grabbing onto anything cold and hard, especially steel.

I've seen that people with tourettes trigger each other to tick more, and I've experienced the triggering effect of flapping, which I find very similar to tourettes.
Flapping seems to me to be a blend of stimming and tics.

I see the flapping triggering other flapping as a sort of rapport.

It's awkwardly sweet

Trying not to always fails for me.

I flapped for a few minutes when I started Skyrim. The theme music made me quite happy on account of calling back to both Oblivion and especially Morrowind.

Not quite sure what this flapping thing is, but I don't think I do it........there are other things I do though like picking up random objects to fidget with(I try very hard not to if it's someone elses house, or try to find something unimportant to pick up that wont bother them or if all else fails I light up a ciggerette and go outside if I have to because some people don't like smoking in their house.

I enjoy flapping my hands. I only do it when I'm out of sight, though.

Always reminds me of a happy dog wagging its tail! :P
