Heres a video about there teen son with aspergers. He reminds me so much of the way I was as a teen. I see the way that counselor was talking to him and it just reminded me of the way that school officials used to talk to me.

I wish I could hear as well as see. The speakers on this computer are terrible. If everything's cranked to max, the house is silent, and I lean really, really close, I can make out enough to sort of piece the rest together.
It sounds like the counselor is encouraging the young man, then telling his father that's he's good enough for where he is but not good enough for where he needs to be someday.
Like-- because he's AS, he has to be ahead of the game just to be good enough.
Why is it always, "Not good enough, not good enough, not good enough." with us?? NTs aren't perfect. My stepmom's sister is a psychopath and my in-laws are pretty freakin' dysfunctional. How come I have to listen to people tell me why I'm not good enough and try to improve based on their suggestions, but they don't???
I know this is wrong but sometimes I wish I was profoundly autistic instead. I am so tired of trying, trying, trying all the time...
...and if I ever DO manage to do good enough, it's unnoticed.
Because you don't get any attagirls just for being normal.
I'm tired.
It looks to me like the parents are smarter than the experts. Maybe the father should be talking while the counselor takes notes on what needs to change.
