The Autism Enigma
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to watch this one thought I do live in Canada. Judging from the trailer though I'd say it looks like a really good documentary. My doctors are encouraging me to go on a special diet for people with digestive problems. We think that it could be more helpful than medication especially since I have bad IBS. I'm going on a GAPS Diet http://gapsdiet.com/The_Diet.html (list of foods to eat/avoid). I've been desperately trying to find someone on here WP who's tried it but I have yet to. One of the things I've been doing which is recommended is drinking coconut water. It's a little pricey but since I started drinking that and avoiding glutton products I've had less IBS symptoms and more energy. My Fibromyalgia hasn't been as bad since I started drinking coconut water. I like it a lot better than vitamin water. I realize now that I wasn't getting enough potassium in my diet. As far as the full GAPS diet goes I'm having trouble getting completely on the diet because it's not easy. I could use more encouragement from family members, but my family eats worse foods than I do, and I slip up a lot just from being around them.
They're sick all the time, and two of my siblings also have autism.
I'd be interested in seeing this. I've read some about this. Do you think it'll ever be available in the U.S?
I used to have gut issues until I changed my entire lifestyle 20 years ago, but I have trouble understanding how my gut could cause my issues. I stim because of my gut? I can't recognize many social cues because of my gut? It really feels neurological. How would the gut relate to neurology? And if I fixed my gut, would all these issues go away? Would I suddenly be enlightened?

Hope they post the full episode soon. Gut problems also run in my family. This is one of the few ideas that to me doesn't seem so hair brained.
Causality? Chicken or egg? I don't know, but their sure does seem to be a strong connection.

I'm not likely to be around much longer. As before when I first signed up here years ago, I'm finding that after a long hiatus, and after only a few days back on here, I'm spending way too much time here again already. So I'm requesting my account be locked, banned or whatever. It's just time. Until then, well, I dunno...
