I wonder if we knew about it before the North Korean people did.

Eh, I don't know.
It was announced on state-run North Korean television on Dec. 19 (which is "tomorrow" for me right now, in the US.)
He apparently died a couple of days ago.

I wonder if this will change international relations in a significant manner.

No, some say stroke, some say heart failure, then the BBC article just says physical and mental over-work.

He had a stroke a few years ago, though.

Songs like this will no longer be played?

I wonder how the country will be now, though. If Un will be any better. I think under Un, things will likely liven up, and I think the North will be a bit less siege-like with the South. Time will tell. Un is like my age, though, I don't know if he could really run a country. But hey, let's see. I really hope and pray North Korea gets better now. Alot imo, in the fate of these countries, was more chance and luck, and that the US won the Cold War. The North Korean won used to be worth more than the South's. Also, South Korea was under martial law until the 80s or so if I recall correctly.

Oh well, North has a bit of a Christmas gift I guess.

Yeah, I really wonder about the future of the country.
Kim Jong-un is just 27, whereas Kim Jong-il because "Supreme Leader of North Korea" at 52 or 53 years of age.

Remember, however, that Kim il-Sung is the "eternal president".

Yeah, but dead.
So it doesn't really mean anything to us.

Interesting article.

Quote:
A friend “Micaelo” spent some time with young “Pak”, who even confided the truth of his parentage to his classmate, who dismissed the fantastic story as idle boasting.

From the stories of his classmates, he sounds like a pretty cool guy to me. That italodisco song he likes is sweet, too, btw.

I don't know, Kim Jong Un likes italodisco. I don't know, it's odd to find a country's leader with similar tastes in music as me.
