For some reason I have days where I act either Asperger's but able to seem more NT or lower functioning than just Asperger's. On the days when I act lower functioning, my head feels cloudier and sometimes even hurts. I kind of stumble around, and more often than not, I have my mouth slightly open. On those days my hands don't work right and certain things are harder to do than they are on other days, like talking. Talking isn't hard but making my voice sound normal is harder. I don't really think I have anything more than Asperger's though. Maybe I have seizures in my sleep like I used to. I have no idea. All I know is it suddenly happens and then I'm almost trapped in my body for a day or a few days at a time. It doesn't change how I think but makes it harder to concentrate and act like I normally do. This is a really big problem that started last year. The doctors won't even try to see what it is, if these are caused by seizures I need to have seizures right in front of them for them to be able to tell. i wish I could fix whatever it is wrong with me, and hopefully go back to being JUST Asperger's all the time except for sometimes.

It could be burn out, heightened sensory issues on some days or yes, seizures in your sleep and seizure activity throughout the day. I wake up stumbling around, barely able to move my legs and hold onto the banister so I can keep my balance. My mind is slower, my thoughts foggy, memory worse than usual.

Things to look out for: changes in mood, seeing flashing light, tingly skin (especially the head), sleep paralysis like hearing voices or being unable to move when you wake up.

Doctors won't believe me either and it's hard for my family to take it seriously, and I just don't have them in my sleep.

Maybe you should read this: http://latedx.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/ ... egression/

This is about my regression due to seizures triggered by medication and anxiety and forcing myself into well known stressful environments.
Maybe get your parents to read it too.

Not sure what you might have, though it could be a combination of anxiety and aspieness. Don't ask me through, see a good doctor

I agree about anxiety being a likely suspect, and here's why: the only thing I've noticed affecting one way or the other is the way I feel about the people around me.....typically I'll feel as if I'm among enemies if I'm in a workplace with people who aren't of my own choosing, or if I'm trying to deal with authority figures, or if I'm in a relationship that's gone bad. All of which would give me big anxiety problems which I can't easily deal with because of my alexithymia. I guess it figures......I've heard before that the best thing for an Aspie wishing to take part in the NT world is to just relax. So I'd suggest you ask yourself if you're feeling particularly anxious when you're feeling more autistic than usual.

However, it could also be a physical thing like seizures or pills, or fatigue. Hope you start feeling better soon.

By any chance, do your good days seem to coincide with taking decongestants, drinking lots of caffeine and/or energy drinks, or supplements containing things like ginseng, mahuang (ie, natural ephedrine), etc? You might just have undiagnosed ADD & be accidentally treating it without really noticing the correlation.

Back before I was diagnosed with ADD, I went through a year and a half taking Dexatrim (a diet pill that used to exist that had extended-release phenylpropanolamine). In addition to losing weight, I had what was without a doubt the best year and a half of my life socially & academically. Then, after deciding I'd lost enough weight, I quit taking it, and my life completely fell apart within a matter of weeks for no apparent reason (objectively, I was no worse than before I started taking it, but when you suddenly lose the ability to function at the level you were functioning last week or last month, it's pretty dramatic & upsetting). I didn't make the connection until YEARS later, after I'd been taking Ritalin for a while & found out that PPA acted kind of like a weak amphetamine with lots of PNS side effects.

You might want to try dextroamphetamine or Adderall. If you don't see an improvement, you can always just quit, and you might be one of the ~50% or so of Aspies who benefit from them.

No I haven't taken meds since I was 7. The only meds I took were for seizures but they made me VERY violent. The meds before then (also for seizures) gave me a rash that could have been fatal

It was really bad today. I had a headache today and I accidentally put my work in my folder backwards, then went up to turn it in. (It was a folder with prongs) My Algebra teacher looked at me like I was slow and asked me if I was joking around. I told her no. She basically broke everything down step by step how to put the paper in a pronged folder I was so embarrased.
I hate how whenever I get these headaches and feel weird on these days I lose control of my jaw. That happened when i was little and had seizures, one side of my mouth was paralyzed for YEARS. Up until a few years ago. And now it started again!

It's either burn out or seizures.

ADD? Come on. If you've got such inattentive ADHD without medication then those symptoms will be constant. Losing motor control (or having slower motor movements) isn't ADHD related.

What it sounds like is a cognitive/motor slowdown which I get after waking up from having seizures. Sometimes it's from sensory overload but with me the two are connected.

Those side effects sound icky.

What are you like when those symptoms wear off? What did you do they day before? What did you eat?
If you normally have concentration problems it may be ADHD, if not then it's probably not.
Food is a trigger for me. Too much sweets/salt/ caffeine/ alcohol and I'm light sensitive which also triggers them. Also, stress can lower the seizure thresh hold.

Are you still having those symptoms?

It also could be a form of atypical migraine, such a silent migraines, but that's probably less likely. Something like these in me would likely be migraine related though.

Really, it sounds like you should see a neurologist and have them look into this more. I don't know what to say, because I'm used to having an overly aggressive doctor, but it sounds like something is different in your brain and they'll want to figure out what.

None of the doctors saw anything. That's how it is for me though. Once when I was little I had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital, was OK in the hospital, and then had a seizure again in the parking lot as I was getting ready to leave.

I'm scared because I had this one type of seizure once that lasted an hour long and has a huge chance of being fatal. I had 2 in one day. Other than that I had typical seizures I guess. I have no iea what the deadly seizures I had were called, but they made me stop breathing when I had them.

IF you haven't, i suggest that you start keeping a daily diary of the the things you eat, physical activities you engage in, when you got to bed, when you wake up, etc. After you do this, see IF these episodes are random by contrasting your good days and bad days. I see THAT you are 14, and you say THAT occurrence began last year... so it started as you entered puberty. This may have something to do with the symptoms you are experiencing. Our bodies are continually developing and some of the most drastic changes in our physiology begins during puberty.

I believe in using every available resource at my discretion especially in regards to health.

Yep, I'm suggesting Autism Speaks. IF they can help, you have gained IF they can't you have lost nothing.

We are in a full moon phase in the winter. I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, which makes my normal depression worse. I take Celexa for it and get as much full daylight as I can. The full moon and new moon give me headaches, irritability, difficulty hearing and sleeping. I know, I'm a lunatic, literally. But hair does not grow between my knuckles. Notice these kinds of things as well.

If you tell your doctor you are having trouble sleeping, waking up groggy and with whatever other morning symptoms you may have.. .see if you can get him to recommend you for a sleep study. If you are having seizures in your sleep, that may be your best bet for them to take you seriously.

Migraines and seizures are closely connected. One, they're both neurological. Migraines seem to last longer and seizures a matter of minutes. And the most severe ones last up to an hour. I may get a migraine following a seizure. I get both gastro symptoms, the same aura, tingling, hallucinations (more seizure related), and even partial paralysis.
Migraines seem to be worse because they can last up to 48 hours.

I just get irritable. PMS related. Well, PMDD. So I turn into a werewolf without growing any hair.
